About Me

- Hi! My name is Jonathan, the owner and photographer of Southern Raw Photos. I was born in North Carolina, and grew up in Mississippi. I have traveled to several states growing up and I enjoy being able to do that with photography.

I have the most amazing family that loves to explore new places with me. My best friend, other half & fiancée, Jessica, is a talented photographer as well and my co-photographer at weddings. We make the best team! We have two children, Madilynn and Karson. They are our entire world. When we are not at basketball or softball practice, you can find us exploring somewhere in the mountains.

The drive I have to be a great photographer comes from my mom. She was an amazing photographer and friend. She passed when I was 16 and her funeral was filled with hundreds of people who her photos meant the world to. I am a photographer who not only loves the adventure, but the story behind each shot. Although my style of photography is in some ways different than my mom’s, my drive to create meaningful, life-lasting photographs is the same. I deeply cherish the memories and photographs I have to remember her by. I love being able to create meaningful photographs for others to cherish forever.

While living in Tennessee I have been given the opportunity to do what I love. In Tennessee we are blessed with so many breathtaking locations to make amazing memories.I am extremely passionate about what I do and love capturing those real emotions and moments for people to enjoy forever.
